Integrity Policy

At Professional Editing Co, we are committed to delivering ethical, high-quality editing services that uphold principles of academic integrity. Our role is to enhance the clarity, flow, and readability of your work while ensuring your original ideas, arguments, and voice remain intact. We adhere to strict ethical standards and institutional guidelines, prioritizing transparency, authenticity, and accountability in all our services.

Ethical Editing Practices

We believe in responsible editing that maintains the integrity of your work. While we may suggest rephrasing for clarity or flag areas that require further explanation, we do not:

  • Write content on behalf of clients.

  • Conduct original research, generate new arguments, or insert citations that are not provided by the author.

  • Fabricate, falsify, or manipulate data, sources, or evidence.

Our goal is to provide polished, publication-ready documents that reflect your authentic scholarship while meeting the highest academic standards.

Human-Crafted Editing

We guarantee that all academic editing is 100% human-performed, drawing on our editors’ expertise, experience, and subject matter knowledge. We do not use AI-generated tools to write, rewrite, or paraphrase academic content. By committing to human-only editing, we ensure that your work maintains its originality, nuance, and credibility.

Citation and Plagiarism

We prioritize the precise handling of citations and source attribution. Our editors ensure that all references are accurately formatted according to APA or Chicago style and flag any inconsistencies or missing citations. However, clients are responsible for verifying the accuracy and legitimacy of their sources.

To support this process, we thoroughly review and cross-check sources whenever possible, confirming details such as author, date, title, publication, and links. We also use specialized software to audit your reference list and in-text citations and identify any discrepancies. However, we do not verify the authenticity of sources that cannot be found, nor do we locate replacements for missing or unverifiable references. The author retains full responsibility for the accuracy and reliability of their original work and the sources they provide.

Confidentiality and Transparency

We are committed to protecting your privacy and maintaining transparency throughout the editing process. All client documents and personal information are kept strictly confidential and never shared with third parties without your explicit, written permission. The only exception is if your work is formally published (as we may highlight that published work on our marketing materials).

To promote transparency, we:

  • Clearly define the scope and limitations of our services before starting each project.

  • Offer detailed explanations of the types of edits performed (e.g., copy editing, proofreading) and provide examples when necessary.

Our goal is to foster a trust-based partnership built on open communication, reliability, and respect for your intellectual property.
